Hi, I'm Steffen the founder of orkitec. On this page you'll find a collection of the things I've created in the scope of orkitec but also an overview of other products and companies that I've built or have been part of.
orkitec
The offical registeration of orkitec happened 2009 in Berlin because I needed a legal entity to release my first app in Apple App Store. In addition to that I also wanted to try to sell licenses for a game engine that I've already worked on for a few years as a hobby and learning project. Over the past 10+ years I released several games, apps and plugins as orkitec.

Mbaas-Development GmbH
In 2013 I founded Mbaas Development together with Christian Stanke a friend and former colleague from Kunst-Stoff. Originally we wanted to start a mobile game studio but through research for the needed tools our plan pivoted into building the mobile backend as a service platform embraase wich later evolved into the software localization platform Applanga. To bootstrap the company before funding and customers we also did contract development for a periodic table app and a digital children book in Unity. At the the end of 2018 we sold the Mbaas Development GmbH to Transperfect "the largest privately owned language services provider, with offices in over 100 cities worldwide" and are still leading Applanga's development and operations as main daily jobs.

kunst-stoff
Kunst-Stoff was a independent agency and game studio and for me a quite special job for several reasons. Being at work often felt more like spending creative time with friends instead of working for a entity and while it has been pretty stressful at times Kunst-Stoff always had a quite high artistic expectation for all its own as well as customer projects which kept the work interesting. As Development Director I was heading the development of several projects and many of them also have been built with the orkitec game engine.
